“Olhar Para Dentro” (“Looking Inside”)

Muitos de vocês conhecem esta expressão. E como não fui eu que me lembrei originalmente dela decidi colocá-la entre aspas, como sendo uma citação. Esta expressão faz parte da vida de alguém que, para mim, já ultrapassou há muito tempo os limites da amizade, tornando-se um verdadeiro irmão luminoso. Agradeço todos os dias por isso. E só um verdadeiro irmão luminoso se lembraria de nos colocar este dilema. À primeira vista, e para muitos, “olhar para dentro” têm a ver com o nosso ego. Ouvimos vezes e vezes sem conta queixas de que “só olhas para ti, só te vês a ti próprio, só pensas em ti, só olhas para o teu umbigo, egoísta, só olhas para dentro”. Pois é olhar para dentro. Olhamos para dentro e o que é que nós vemos? Podemos ver-nos a nós cá na superfície, ver o nosso ego. Ver tudo aquilo com que nos identificamos, o nosso nome, as nossas possessões, a nossa história nesta passagem, tudo aquilo que pensamos que nós somos. Mas podemos ir mais além. Podemos ir, e vermo-nos realmente a nós próprios. Ao mergulharmos dentro de nós vamos passar por todas estas coisas que referi, o nome, as possessões, a história. E elas irão ficando para trás, cada vez mais para trás, à medida que mergulhamos cada vez mais para dentro. Iremos também passar pelo ego. E é um grande passo quando o conseguimos ver como mais uma dessas coisas pelas quais estamos a passar à medida que nos aprofundamos em nós próprios. É uma bênção quando o conseguimos ver ali, ali dentro de nós, mas não o confundimos connosco, não o deixamos ditar as nossas vidas. Eventualmente, mas não casualmente, chegaremos ao autêntico nós, veremos a nossa chama, a nossa luz, a nossa essência. E tudo o resto terá ficado para trás. Iremos experienciar a unidade com o todo, nem que seja, pelo menos no início, por um brevíssimo instante. E ao aprendermos a desfrutar desse instante poderemos começar a senti-lo com se fosse a eternidade, a eternidade da nossa existência, a eternidade do momento presente. É também a isso a que nos convida o “Olhar Para Dentro”. E se por alguma razão sente, ou pensa, que não consegue chegar a tal sítio, saiba que existem seres luminosos que ao se descobrirem, ao se iluminarem, ao olharem para dentro deles, despertam em nós os sentimentos necessários para iniciarmos, retomarmos, ou continuarmos essa maravilhosa viagem de “olhar para dentro”.

“Looking Inside” (“Olhar Para Dentro”)

Many of you know this expression. And as wasn’t I that remembered it originally, I decided to put it between quotation marks, as a citation. This expression is part of the life of somebody that, for me, already surpassed a long time ago the limitations of friendship, becoming a true luminous brother. I give thanks for this every day. And only a true luminous brother would remember to present us with this dilemma. At first sight, and for many of us, "looking inside" has to do with our ego. We hear many, many times complaints about "you only look at yourself, you only see yourself, you only think of yourself, you only look at your belly button, you selfish, you only look inside." So it is, looking inside. We look inside and what do we see? We can see us in there, in the surface, we can see our ego. We see everything that we identify with, our name, our possessions, our history in this passage, all the things that we think that we are. But we can go beyond. We can go, and really see ourselves. As we dive inside us, we will pass for all of those things that I referred to, the name, the possessions, the history. And they will start to be left behind, more and more, as we dive more and more inside. We will also pass by the ego. And it is a great step when we can see it as one more of those things that we are passing by as we deepened ourselves in us. It is a blessing when we can see it there, there inside us, but we don't mistake it with ourselves, we don't let it dictate our lives. Eventually, but not accidentally, we will arrive to the authentic us, we will see our flame, our light, our essence. And everything else will be left behind. We will experience the unity with the whole even that, at least in the beginning, it is just for a short instant. And has we learn how to enjoy that instant we can begin to feel it as if it were the eternity, the eternity of our existence, the eternity of the present moment. It is also to that that “looking inside” invites us. And if by some reason you feel, or think, that you can’t get to such a place, know that there are luminous beings that, as they discover themselves, as they illuminate themselves, as they look inside themselves, they awake in us the necessary feelings for us to begin, restart, or continue that wonderful journey of “looking inside”.
