Sugestão musical para esta leitura / Musical suggestion for this reading: R.E.M. – Losing my Religion)
Chorar, rir, cantar, tentar.
Chorar, rir, cantar, tentar. É tudo um sonho? E se for? E se for o teu sonho?
Losing my Religion (Perder a Cabeça)
To start you can ask about the reason of the apparent discrepancy between the title in Portuguese and the one in English. However, and for the ones who haven't yet noticed, "Losing my Religion" is an idiom. Its meaning has to do with to lose the calmness, the patience, the hope or to lose your head.
How many times do you "lose your head" just in one day? Have you thought about it, Have you feel it?
Today I was drawn to think, to feel, to observe about this question. And as it usually happens it has to do with my own experience.
Is it life bigger, more important than to "lose your head?" Is it life bigger than us?
Well, I merely observe that life is also me, you, us. And me, you, us, are also life.
So what! You are not me!
Yes, we are different but we are all one. Could it be then, that you are not really me? Could it be then, when I make something that you feel that it affects you, when I tell something that you feel that it affects you, am I not doing it also to me?
See how far do we go to establish ours, at that time, unyielding position. We said too much. Did we? Couldn’t it be that, maybe, we didn't say enough?
We are trapped, we feel cornered, with all the eyes on us and then we lose our head. And when we do it’s a good time for us to reach new horizons. Only losing our head, and letting that which we know is there in excess, to go away, that which is not part of us, of who we really are, we can proceed in our path, the one that we so many times longed for, the one we so many times thought about, the one we so many times felt to be ours.
But here we go again, trying to keep up with the bruised ego of the other, of the other that accompanies us very close. And we find ourselves saying that, maybe, we are not able, that we can’t do it, that we said too much. Did we?
To cry, to laugh, to sing, to try. To try, to try, to try or to do, to do, to do, or, why not, to be, to be, to be, or even, to feel, to feel, to feel and to move forward, not staying still, there, on that moment of sorrow, of intransigence, of past.
To cry, to laugh, to sing, to try. Is it all a dream? And so what if it is? And so what if it is your dream? Will it not be worthwhile to "lose your head" for it?
